Help with garden preparation! We need assistance with weeding, picking up debris, painting pallettes and clipping bushes. This will take place at the garden on 7th and Fulton Rd. NW in Downtown Canton.

4-Kidz Korner Enrichment Program is a faith-based non-profit organization that is seeking volunteers who enjoy working with children ages 5-14. The volunteer must be creative, enthusiastic, patient, and accept diversity. Volunteers must be available during Wednesdays 4pm-6pm (with exceptions of holiday weeks and extreme weather conditions). There is SOME flexibility with the hours depending on the assignment. We encourage our volunteers to utilize his or her talents (if comfortable) to teach the children life-skills through dance, music, art, etc. STUDENTS ARE WELCOME Saturday opportunities will become available in the near future. Program is held within the Stark County/Plain Twp community (specific location will be given during the interview)

The United Way Get Connected program gives you and your employees an opportunity to mold the workforce of tomorrow. Through Get Connected, high school juniors and seniors enrolled in Career Tech programs visit your workplace, learn about careers that align with their interests, and build relationships with employees in your organization. An optional ongoing mentoring component includes continued communication between the student and the employee mentor they meet with during the event. Get Connected mentoring is designed to fit within an employee’s work schedule and aligns with employers’ workforce development goals. • Continued communication with students via email • Follow-up group visit to students’ classroom • Assist with arranging job shadowing opportunities • Mentors advise/provide feedback on student class projects Background checks are required for ongoing mentoring, and are provided free of charge.
